Meriem Mahdhi is a Researcher, Online Harms and Influence Operations at the Center for the Study of Organized Hate (CSOH).
Prior to joining CSOH, Meriem worked as a social media investigator at Signify AI, investigating online abuse targeting athletes and sports executives and supporting efforts to hold perpetrators accountable.
In 2023, she worked with Protection Group International, where she investigated influence operations targeting elections in North Africa. She was later awarded the Aziz Fellowship at the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ), where she worked with the technology team on several investigations, with a particular focus on how social media platforms enable the monetization and spread of disinformation and hate speech.
She trained in open-source intelligence (OSINT) at Amnesty International’s Digital Verification Unit and holds an MA in Migration Studies from the Department of Sociology at the University of Essex.
