Kayla Bassett 

Director of Research

Kayla Bassett is the Director of Research at the Center for the Study of Organized Hate (CSOH). She previously served as Business Integrity Manager at Facebook, where she led a team dedicated to identifying and disrupting scam advertising and misinformation across the global ads ecosystem. Her team provided data-driven insights to shape Ad product development and policy decisions.  

Beyond her work at Facebook, Kayla has led the development of machine learning–driven products in both health tech and enterprise software, and contributed to the NIH’s COVID-19 response through wastewater-based prevalence modeling. Before transitioning into tech, Kayla served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. She holds a Master of Science from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Based in the Pacific Northwest, she has a longtime love for the outdoors.
