An Indian “crypto visitor” flew to Argentina for an international conference this past week, according to a life update he shared on X Friday. His international arrival went viral on the Internet, but for all the wrong reasons possible, as he was hit with a barrage of racist comments in the virtual interaction thread.
In a merely days old tweet, he wrote, “Argentina I’m in you. Frens let’s connect before @EFDevcom.”
Surge of anti-Indian racism on X
“The hate for Indian people online is off the charts. It’s actually crazy and sad. They also get no sympathy from anyone, not even other Indians,” a user said on X.
Key findings of the Center for the Study of Organized Hate’s report titled ‘Anti-Indian Racism on X (July-September 2025)’ stated, “680 high engagement anti-Indian racist posts on X garnered 281.2M views between July 1 and September 7, 2025.” On top of that, 121 posts, making for 17.8%, used anti-Indian slurs and attracted 74.3 million views during this period.
“Around 65% of posts were US-centered, confirming the US as the epicenter of anti-Indian digital racism during the study period,” the analysis looking into a dataset of 680 posts on the SNS platform targeting Indians and Indian-origin communities added.
