Job Overview
The Center for the Study of Organized Hate (CSOH) is seeking a skilled Digital Research Analyst to drive data-centric research on hate, extremism, and disinformation. The role involves employing Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques, social media monitoring, and both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to track, analyze, and report on violent extremist content and digital threats. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on trends in hate, extremism and disinformation
- Monitor extremist networks promoting harmful content across social media platforms
- Collect, clean, and analyze large-scale data from digital and open-source environments
- Perform narrative and discourse analysis of speeches delivered at in-person events
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on joint research projects
- Contribute to reports, briefings, and advocacy outputs for varied audiences
Qualifications and Skills
- Academic background in media studies, political science, digital humanities, or related disciplines
- Prior experience researching online hate, extremism, or violence in the Indian context
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research capabilities
- Demonstrated research experience on sociopolitical issues in India
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Hindi, Marathi, and English is required; knowledge of additional regional languages is a plus
- Video editing skills (Optional)
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently and manage deadlines
